The Women’s Weekend #71 is scheduled for October 5-8. The team has been working extremely hard in preparation for the 9 Pilgrims, whom God has a special plan for on this particular weekend. Please join me in continuing to pray for the pilgrims and the team.
As you know, palanca for the team and pilgrims means so much during the weekend. As your schedule permits, please remember your sisters in Christ with palanca for their weekend!

A wonderful time was had by all at the Ultreya held Saturday, 9 September 2017, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Clifton, VA.
Cursillistas & family from all areas of the beltway family joined us for a dessert contest this Ultreya. There were lots of pumpkin dishes with Thanksgiving just around the corner, as well as a banana crème pie, chocolate brownies, and cookie dough cookie balls. Kelly Rhoads, Charissa Aclin, and Kathie Peirsol walked away with the prizes: bragging rights and a little first, second, or third prize statue!
I, K. P. Reed, your Fourth Day Coordinator, was your Fourth Day Speaker. My Fourth Day song was Be Thou My Vision. A Cursillista told me and Debby later that Be Thou My Vision was a song that they played at her wedding. It was a song Debby and I played at our wedding, as well.
My Fourth Day Talk was about losses, how we settle our losses, with Jesus’ help, and get passed them, and, particularly, what we do after we settle our losses.
We ended the time by gathering in a circle, holding hands, and praying the Lord’s Prayer. The Ultreya was a fantastic time!
Our next Ultreya is scheduled for Saturday, 11 November 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6600 Laurel Bowie Rd, Bowie, MD 20715. Our Fourth Day Speaker is Sharon Heineken. Do come!
At the next Ultreya we will be having elections, and I’m looking for someone to do this job as Fourth Day coordinator! If you or you and your spouse are looking to do something in Via de Cristo, this is a very simple job. Please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk about it.
Do you have a Fourth Day talk to give? A Fourth Day talk is simply a talk about how Jesus is working in your life. It is between fifteen and twenty minutes long. After the talk, we will break up into small groups, in order to discuss the talk. Your brother and sister Cursillistas will pray for you, before you give your talk, and afterwards. Please pray and ask Jesus if He would like you to give a Fourth Day talk and follow His lead. If He does, please send an e-mail to email@example.com in order to move that forward. We hope that this will deepen your experience with Rainbow, your Fourth Day, and (most importantly) your walk with Jesus.
If you have a particularly memorable moment about this Ultreya, please write up a quick paragraph or a few sentences about it and send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org; we want to know how the Ultreya impacted you!

Thrivent Financial provided seed money for our Dessert Contest Scholarship Fundraiser. This grant enabled us to send "save the date" postcards and a donation request letter to over 450 current and past member families. Their $250 grant to us has been multiplied almost 10-fold! Donations received by mail before the September Ultreya: $1,365; donations in person at the event: $604 and the mail-in donations are still coming so I am sure we will break $2,000! Thrivent T-shirts were used as door prizes. Thrivent "thanks for being awesome!" note cards are being sent to all who donated, regardless of how small the amount. An added benefit, beyond adding this substantial amount of money donated to our scholarship fund, is that we were able to clean-up our mailing list with some being "returned to sender" due to outdated address information. If you did not receive these mailings during the summer, please send your current mailing address to Dave Lambert, email@example.com
